Ihedioha assures Imo people of good leadership

…Gets support at Mbaise USA convention

Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, the deputy speaker, House of Reps and governorship aspirant in Imo State under the PDP, has assured the people of Mbaise that he will give Imo people a purposeful leadership if voted to serve as governor in 2015.

He gave the assurance while addressing Mbaise people living in USA at their 7th National Convention held at Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel New Jersey last weekend. While giving his address, he expressed his excitement being in the midst of his kinsmen. The deputy speaker who was at the event with the Chairman, House Committee on Diaspora in the House of Representatives, Hon Abike Dabiri Erelu, noted his concern for Imo people living outside the shores of Nigeria exemplified by his attracting the person incharge of the welfare of Nigerians in Diaspora in the National Assembly to Mbaise USA Convention. Chief Ihedioha urged Mbaise people and Imolites living in the USA to always collaborate with the office of Hon Abike Dabiri Erelu on matters affecting them so that government will give it attention. He also noted that the Honourable member representing Chibok federal constituency, Hon Peter, a Christian has come with him to thank Mbaise people and Imolites for their support, prayers and solidarity over their plight in the North East. He urged Mbaise people to sit up and network with people of other zones to see to the emergence of an Imo State governor of Mbaise extraction “I have not come to campaign

because the numerous projects I attracted to Imo State is a testimony that will speak for me. I have made serious efforts to make Mbaise and Imo State better than it was” Ihedioha noted.

The Deputy Speaker commended the outgoing president of Mbaise USA, Mr Chamberlin Nwanne for his maturity and congratulated the newly elected president, Mr Law Osondu noting that his victory is a call to service. He observed the turnout of people at the convention in their thousands as a sign of peace and unity of purpose of the Mbaise people living in USA.

Chief Ihedioha commended the Mbaise people in the states for their medical missions to Imo State charging them to take it further and collaborate with him that is also doing a lot for the health needs of the entire people of Imo State.

Addressing Mbaise people in USA, Hon Abike Dabiri Erelu who started with an opening greetings in Igbo, commended the leadership of Mbaise USA for the manner they have organized the people. She noted that she

is not only a friend of Mbaise people but considering the good works of Rt Hon Ihedioha in the National Assembly and his exemplary leadership, she has become an adopted daughter of Mbaise which attracted overwhelming applaud. Hon Abike encouraged Mbaise USA to continue to sustain the culture of Nigeria and to be sure that Nigerian government is always thinking of their welfare. Hon Abike informed Mbaise people and Nigerians that soon the country will have a Diaspora Commission by the grace of God through the support of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha. She called on Mbaise people to celebrate Chief Ihedioha.

Earlier, Hon Nnanna Igbokwe, representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte federal constituency commended the leadership of Mbaise USA and the entire people for a wonderful convention. He called on the people to appreciate Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha for his efforts to uplift the Igbo race and Mbaise reiterating the numerous achievements of Chief

Ihedioha and called on all to support his governorship aspiration.

Hon Biye Peter Gumtha representing Damiboa/Chibok/Goza federal constituency of Borno State, in his comments thanked the people for their prayers especially on the efforts to secure the release of the Chibok girls. He informed the people of Imo and Mbaise that with theperson of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, they should not look elsewhere for

the governorship of Imo State in 2015.

Also speaking, Chief Longers Anyanwu from Okigwe zone and Hon Okey Dike noted that the people of Mbaise in USA should support the aspiration of Chief Ihedioha as he is the most prepared and most

competent man to achieve their desire.

They insist on the need for equity emphasizing that other zones should concede the governorship of Imo in 2015 to Owerri zone. Reacting, Mbaise USA through their leaders, the newly elected president of the association, Mr Law Osondu thanked Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha for honouring their invitation. He noted that the people of Mbaise are proud of him and his achievements and assured him that they will not let him down.

They prayed for his success and safe trip back home noting that they will always call upon him for advice and support at all times. They also thanked, Hon Abike and other distinguished guest that made out time to be with Mbaise people living in USA at this year’s convention.

Major Laserian Nwoga, Ezeji Alozie Aguwa, were are some distinguished sons of Mbaise living in USA that graced the convention.
