A priest was last Sunday installed Canon of the Cathedral Church of Good Shepherd, Enugu while three were ordained priests by the Bishop of Enugu and Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma.

An important aspect of the solemn ceremony was the administration of the Oath of Allegiance to the priests and their wives by the Chancellor of the Diocese, Prof. Ilochi Okafor, SAN assisted by the Diocesan legal team. As part of the oath, the four priests and their wives also forbade cultism, homosexualism and same-sex marriage.

In his homily, the Bishop of Enugu, Most Rev. Chukwuma urged them to always engage in true worship by living in faith in the son of God “who gave Himself for us”.

He stated that “it is God who empowers those that are called” as he thanked those who had come to witness the occasion.

Rt. Rev. Manasses C.I. Okere, Bishop of Isikwuato/Umunnochi Diocese preached the sermon in which he advised them to lead their lives like St. Paul, the Apostle.
