Police smash kidnappers’ den …Rescue four victims By Ifeoma Ofurum

The police in Imo State have smashed a den of kidnappers in Ikeduru local government area of Imo State.

Acting on a tip-off-from the Imo Security Network (ISN), the police had stormed the place but discovered four victims in custody while the abductors fled the scene.

The victims were, however, freed while the house in which the dastardly act was committed had been pulled down .

Police spokesman in Imo, DSP Andrew Enwerem, told Christian voice that no arrests have been made since the incident but assured that the police have dug in to unravel the brains behind the kidnapping.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), advised the public to always give out useful information to the police and be conscious of their environment, their neighbours and their occupations.

According to him, the kidnappers could abduct victims from other states and confine them in Imo State while opening negotiations with families of the victims.

He praised the ISN men who discovered the den and urged members of the outfit in other locations to also be up and doing.

It could be recalled that the state government had instituted several means to rid the state of criminals, one of which was the formation of the Imo Security Network to help the police in policing the rural areas.
