PDP stakeholders in Owerri North LGA have in unison extolled the leadership qualities of frontline Imo PDP Governorship Aspirant, Barr Ken Njemanze (SAN).
They made this declaration when the governorship campaign train of Njemanze visited Owerri North PDP as part of his ongoing tour of the 27 Local Governments by Owerri municipal born Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)
The member representing Owerri Federal Constituency, Hon Ezenwa Onyewuchi who spoke at the event extolled the qualities of Ken Njemanze saying he is eminently qualified to contest for the office of the governor of Imo State.
Hon Onyewuchi who was represented at the event by his Senior Special Assistant on Constituency matters, Hon Christian Emeana, said he is well pleased with his aspiration, urging him to remain steadfast. He added that Njemanze is a rare breed and a man who has distinguished himself in the legal profession.
The apex leader of Owerri North, Sir Ambrose Ejiogu described Njemanze as a man of good character who has discharged his duties creditably especially when he served as Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of the State in the Ikedi Ohakim administration.
Speaking in similar vein, Prince Lemmy Akakem noted that humility is one of the good virtues of Barrister Njemanze, describing him as the number one commissioner in the Ikedi Ohakim administration when he served as Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Imo State.
Another leader in Owerri North LGA, Sylvester Oparaugo, spoke eloquently on the fine qualities of KCO.
In his speech, Chief Amugo Ugorji said he is happy that Barr Njemanze decided to join the governorship contest.
He said he is also happy with the warm reception accorded the Imo PDP governorship hopeful by members of Owerri North PDP, maintaining that it is the turn of Owerri Zone to produce the next governor of Imo State.
Earlier in his speech, Ken Njemanze (SAN) whose arrival was heralded with a thunderous ovation by PDP members in Owerri North unveiled his progarmmes and policies that will rebuild Imo State.
He gave background of his educational career, stating that he is connected to the people of Owerri North by marriage
He said he possesses the wealth of experience to govern Imo State, having traversed the nooks and crannies of Imo State and getting to know the problems and challenges confronting the people.
Njemanze said he has full grasp of the problems of the people of Imo State, saying as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General from 2007-2011, he ensured that magistrates in Imo State got brand new vehicles as official cars.
He maintained that if the PDP in Imo State wants to win the governorship election in 2015 it has to field an aspirant like himself who is credible and has no political baggage.
The governorship hopeful maintained that he intends to rebuild Imo State, stating that one of the major problems affecting socio economic development in Owerri North is poor state of the roads.
He decried the construction of “china roads” embarked upon by the Okorocha administration, adding that his administration will focus on tackling youth unemployment in the State. He fumed at a situation where graduates are paid meager salaries and without appointment letters by the present administration, adding that he will address the anomaly immediately he assumes office.
The event was witnessed by all the ward chairmen and LGA executives, stakeholders of the PDP in Owerri North LGA such as Chief Maribe Ugoji, High Chief Emeka Iheancho, Young Martins Opara, Nze Alphonsus Nnadi, Chief Mrs Julie Uzoeshi, Bernice Ogoh, Charity Obilor, former councilors, former ward chairmen and other party faithful.
