Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring Him here to me”. –Matthew 17:17.
As parents, when we have done all we can to make our children true and upright in their character, and have failed, we can take them to JESUS. He alone can cast out the evil in them. He can give them new hearts, put His own Holy Spirit within them and transform them into Christ likeness. So it should be with Teachers who are discouraged or appear to have failed to make any impression on their unteachable students. Lead them to Christ for He is able to take them and transform their character. When troubled souls have sought in vain for comfort and help from family ,friends, the Church and from Christian ministers they should go to Jesus Christ Himself – He can comfort Listen! No matter in what we have been defeated, Christ stands ready to take our humiliation and turn it into victory. (1 Peter 5:7)
In the scripture under reference, the disciples had failed in their effort to cast out the demon but their was still hope. Jesus Himself was now at hand and He never fails. There should be a great deal of encouragement in this for all who are trying to change people’s lives into spiritual beauty be it your father, husband, wife, mother, daughter, son, or neighbour (friends & extended family).
The fishermen worked all night in vain, but when they dropped their net at Jesus’ request nay directive, they finally met with success. So also in the shadows of our human failure He stands to give blessings.
Neighbours! It is to Christ and not to School, Church, Minister or mere man that we should try to lead our loved ones. These cannot renew nature or regenerate them nor cast out evil from the person’s heart. Neither can baptism or Holy Communion put grace into life. WE MUST BRING OUR NEIGHBOURS & OURSELVES DIRECTLY TO CHRIST.Neighbours! It is to Christ and not to School, Church, Minister or mere man that we should try to lead our loved ones.
