A thanksgiving service ?last Sunday brought the Girls Guild Youth Week of Achara Layout Archdeaconry, Enugu Anglican Diocese, to an end. The Youth Week was full of activities ranging from Bible quiz to football matches between the teams in the archdeaconry.
The diocesan coordinator of the guild, Nkechi Nwokoye, spoke to the girls on “the importance of living a good Christian life”.
She advised them to continue to be good ambassadors of their homes and the diocese.
The final in the series of football matches played between Emmanuel Church and Ascension Church ended in victory for Emmanuel Church.
They beat Ascension 2-1 to lift the trophy, which was presented by Ven G.B. Ezeabii. The football produced a little upset when Egwuatu Chinasa and Chinaecherem Okafor had a head on clash which led to Chinaecherem being injured.
Dr Ebede, an ardent member of Emmanuel Church who came to watch the match promptly offered medical attention to Chinaecherem, who later returned as the game was over. The two teams were rewarded with cash for their efforts.
