The 3rd session of the second synod of the Diocese of Ikeduru, Anglican Communion begins Thursday 9th October, 2014 at St. Andrew’s Church Inyishi in the Ikeduru local government area of Imo State.
According to a release from the office of the Clerical Synod Secretary, Ven. Innocent Iwuji, the event would feature a wide range of activities including Bible study, praise and worship session, reports from the various Archdeaconries and interactive sessions.
The highpoint of the August gathering is the presentation of the Bishop’s presidential address and the official dedication and commissioning of the ultra-modern two-storey Hostel at Dora Chinyere Nwankiti Juniorate (DCNJ), Inyishi by the diocesan on Saturday 11th October 2014.
The event would be rounded off on Sunday the October, 12th with a thanksgiving service and fund-raising for Diocesan on-going projects, including the new Cathedral Building.
Dignitaries expected at this year’s synod with the theme; “The Scars of Sin, and the Beauty of forgiveness” (Luke 15: 11-32) include top government functionaries, Bishop from other dioceses, traditional rulers, political leaders and Prof. Chinedu Nwajiuba who would present the keynote address.
Meanwhile, the synod venue, St. Andrew’s Church Inyishi is now wearing a new look and ready for the synod.
The priest incharge and the administrator of Inyishi Central Archdeaconry, Rev. Canon Peter Dumaku said that the welfare of the delegates is uppermost in the whole arrangements.
