Imo Petroleum marketers get anti-fraud gadgets By Ifeoma Ofurum

To check the sale of unwholesome petroleum products to the residents of Imo State, Governor Rochas Okorocha recently supplied the necessary gadgets and apparatus to the leadership of the Imo Stated branch of the Association of Independent Petroleum Marketers which has issued an ultimatum to the members to purchase the gadgets before three weeks.

The chairman of the association, Sir Christopher, Sir Amadi, who announced the ultimatum at a recent meeting in Owerri explained that the gadgets would detect adulterated products and ensure that petroleum products are sold with correct measurements.

Sir Amadi described the development as good which he noted would be in the interest of the dealers and the public hence he urged members to purchase the gadgets immediately.

He then advised the public to purchase petroleum products from approved dealers who sell genuine items instead of patronizing black marketers.

Speaking to Christian Voice, the Orlu zonal chairman of the association, Chief Emeka Ifediba, hailed the development as members would now be in a position to detect whether a product is adulterated especially when it is not obtained from the approved source.

He also stated that the association is doing its best to ensure that the products they sell to the public are of the right measurement and quality, adding that it is too bad for any dealer to cheat the consumers “who are our brothers and sisters.”
