People of Mbaitoli Local Government, through the presidents-general of autonomous communities in the area, have once again reiterated their unflinching support for Governor Rochas Okorocha’s Rescue Mission Administration and their resolve to queue behind him and his deputy during 2015 elections.
This was made known when seven presidents-general of the seven autonomous communities in Mbaitoli paid a solidarity visit to their illustrious son and the Deputy Governor Rochas of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere.
Speaking during the solidarity visit, Chief Kingsley Asinobi from Obazu Mbieri eulogized Governor Okorocha, describing him as the son of Mbaitoli for the love so far shown to the people. He expressed gladness over the lifting Mbaitoli has enjoyed due to the choice of their illustrious son as the Deputy Governor. He said that choice positions in government, had eluded them until the emergence of Governor Okorocha led Government.
He enumerated numerous projects going on in Mbaitoli Local Government of Imo State ranging from road network, to construction of schools in every ward.
However, Chief Asinobi said the people of Mbaitoli are specially thanking Governor Okorocha over the construction Nkwo-Orji-Obazu-Orie Mbieri Road, which, he said, has been abandoned for over 16 years.
He averred that the people have suffered so much hardship socially, economically and otherwise.
The group further took turns to speak glowingly of their son whom they described as their pride for his life style which is worthy of emulation.
Mr. Henshaw Opara, the President General of Amike Autonomous community related how they people feel proud over the good news they always receive about their brother.
Mr. Henshaw also recalled the unpalatable political experiences of their people who had always taken part in gubernatorial elections but have always failed despite their huge political resources in terms of their population.
It was not until the emergence of Owelle Rochas Okorocha who first appointed Prince Madumere as his Chief of Staff and also elevated him to the position of the Deputy Governor of Imo State. It is also observed that the local government was left to rot under previous PDP administration to the extent major Roads have been death traps. Nkwo Orji-Obazu-Orie Mbieri Road was left to rot for over sixteen years as previous governments used it as instrument of playing deceitful politics.
Henshaw assured Prince Madumere of their support and encouraged him to move on as there is no opposition in Mbaitoli.
In his response, Prince Madumere thanked them for their solidarity. He narrated his journey with Governor Okorocha whom he described as a brother and a father. He told his people to continue to tell their people the truth. He however urged them to shun the desperate politicians with bogus promises.
It will be recalled that the Youth Leaders of Community Government Council had earlier paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, to pledge their support to the administration also.
