Robbery suspects nabbed in Orji

By Victor Igwe

Two members of a five-man gang of suspected robbers have been arrested after an all night operation on residents in Orji, near Owerri metropolis.

Reports said that the night marauders met their waterloo when they attempted to rob a female student of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (AIFCE) living in the area.

The student was said to have held tightly to one of them and raised alarm as they were hurrying to leave the scene with their loots which include electricity generating sets. The two were said to have been caught while others fled.

It took the intervention of the vigilante group in Orji to prevent the lynching of the suspects who are now in police net.

Christian Voice was told that Orji and environs have fallen under incessant robbery attacks in recent times.

A woman resident in the area said that men of the underworld came into her residence and cleared her poultry farm, leaving no chicken behind.
