Warlord wants Igbos in Northern states home

Niger Delta Warlord, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, has urged Igbos residing in the north to return home as he feared a repeat of the violence that usually occurs in the region whenever there are elections.

In an online statement released recently, the leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteers Force (NDPVF) stated that all Igbos, including soldiers, should leave the north.

“We know they are going to do what they know how to do best after election, but my message to all the Igbos in the North is that they should all leave now, including all the corporals serving there, let them come back home because they will do it again after Jonathan must have been declared winner”, he stated.

Dokubo condemned President Goodluck Jonathan’s signing of the non- violence peace accord saying it was not necessary as he (as president) had sworn to protect the lives of every Nigerian.

“So, why would he take another oath after taking the constitutional oath?” he asked.

He indicated that there would be peace if the Northerners do not engineer violence but added that his people will not fold their arms.

‘The question is not for me, it’s for Buhari, Shekau and others who cannot stop their people from storming Jonathan when he violated Katsina” he said.
