Clergyman chased out of pulpit …For predicting Buhari’s victory

The General Overseer of a Pentecostal Church in Bayelsa State (names withheld) was reportedly chased out of the pulpit for predicting victory for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, at the forthcoming election.

The cleric was in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, as a guest minister on a programme organized by a religious fellowship.

According to reports published by THE NATION newspaper, the preacher was quoted as being surprised that the congregation reacted negatively to his prediction.

While preaching the sermon, he was reported, to have told the congregation that God directed him to tell about the revelation which he said came after about 21 days of fasting and prayers.

The newspaper quoted him as saying: “I am not condemning President Jonathan, but his grace to govern this nation is over. That was why he made a confession before now that he was not going to stay in office for more than one tenure. But people did not bother to know why he made such a critical statement,” he said.

On Buhari’s victory, the cleric was quoted as saying: The Gen. Buhari people used to know in Nigeria. Gen. Buhari has genuinely repented and God has forgiven him. He has been asked and ordained to liberate Nigeria,”
