Archbishop Caleb Maduoma of the Owerri Ecclesiastical Province has given kudos to the Anglican Bishop of Owerri, Rt. Rev. Cyril Okorocha (PhD) for providing accommodation to members of the Anglican Christian Corpers Fellowship (ACCFON) Imo State Chapter.
Most Rev. Maduoma, also the Bishop of Ideato Anglican Diocese, gave the commendation when the executive members of ACCFON visited the diocese at St. Luke’s (Ang) Church, Umueshi, in Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo State.
He advised other bishops in the state to emulate Bishop Okorocha by providing accommodation for Anglican Christian Corps members posted to their dioceses and also by improving their welfare.
Bishop Okorocha had provided accommodation to the Anglican corps members at Bishop Lasbery Girls Model Secondary School, Irete, where their secretariat is also located.
Archbishop Maduoma commended the executive for making their existence in the state known to priests and said that it would bring the youth back to God.
Earlier, the president of the fellowship, Bro Austin Azu, said that the group was facing some challenges in mobilizing members as well as inconveniences experienced during camping.
He also solicited for resources to carry out evangelism activities, especially now that the 2015 Batch A Corps members are expected at the orientation camp at Umudi, Nkwerre LGA between 5th – 26th May.
He said that a bus was necessary for the fellowship as a means of mass transportation of members without hitches.
