Agriculture has been described as the only hope for Nigeria in view of the dwindling revenue from oil to the national coffers.
The Chairman, Association of Commercial Farmers (ACOF), Imo State, Engr Egbuna Njaka expressed the view in a chat with Christian Voice in his office recently.
According to him, agricutlure has the capacity to sustain the economy if well harnessed and would generate employment for youths.
He therefore challenged the Imo State government to extend financial assistance to farmers adding that lack of finance is the main problem of farmers in the State.
Engr. Njaka further called for the introduction of mechanized, large-scale farming in the state to make it attractive to the youths.
He also called on farmers in Imo State to form co-operate societies for easy access to bank loans or government grants.
