Women of St. Paul’s (Ang) Church, Nkwerre, in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State have ended their 2015 Home and Abroad general meeting with a thanksgiving service and an advice to uphold the virtue of womanhood.
The August gathering was held on the 13th – 16th of August 2015 with the theme “Steadfastness in Adversity”.
The Archdeacon of Nkwerre Archdeaconry, Ven. Uchenna Tochukwu Ahams, JP. Admonished the women to also uphold righteousness in their various families.
Archdeacon Ahams, who is also the Vicar of Nkwerre Parish, in the Anglican Diocese of Orlu, urged the women to be the epitome of godliness, peace and humility, and to inculcate in their children and wards, the moral standards of living.
The cleric, also cautioned the women against adultery, and covetousness and extolled them for their continuous support towards the new church building project, financially and otherwise.
He showered encomium on the President of St. Paul’s Home and Abroad Women General Meeting, Dr. Lady Patience Nwaneri, the Archdeacon’s wife, Mrs. Chika Ahams, the executives and all members for their support and urged them to sustain the tempo.
Preaching at the thanksgiving service, the Curate II, of St. Paul’s (Ang.) Church, Nkwerre, Rev. Mark Collins Nwigbo, urged the women to uphold the dignify of virtuous women.
Earlier in her address, the President of the Home and Abroad General Meeting, Lady Dr. Patience Nwaneri, advised the women not to allow the adversities of life to make them turn away from God, stressing that trusting Him will make Him honour their faith.
Dr. Nwaneri, said the women donated one million naira to the church project after their meeting last year. She said that their scholarship programme has continued to record the desired progress, as they have decided to include more indigent and eligible students in the scheme while the loan scheme for the women was in progress.
She commended Ven Ahams, and other priests in the church for their support and patronage as well as prayers and called for its sustenance.
Dr Nwaneri commended the Archdeacon’s wife, Mrs. Chika Ahams, Women Executives, branch co-ordinators and group leaders for their unalloyed support.
Speaking with Christian Voice, the Archdeacon’s wife. Mrs. Ezinne Chika Ahams, urged the mothers to make evangelism and soul-winning their top priorities.
Highpoint of the occasion was the cutting of cake, seminars and prayers by the women.
