An Anglican prelate, Rt. Rev. Dr. Christopher Omotunde, has reemphasized the indissolubility of marriage from the Christian perspective.
Rt. Rev. Omotunde, the Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, was speaking at the solemnization of the Holy matrimony between Doyinsola and Joshua Akinfewa, son of the Bishop of Ibadan, Most Rev. Joseph Akinfenwa, at the Emmanuel Cathedral Church, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State.
The bishop said that in marriage, submission, which is the soul of the union, is a practicalisation of the fear of God in us.
He stressed the need to put God first in a marriage relationship, adding that the head is the symbol of identity.
He advised the couple to work as a team while the wife must be submissive to the husband in everything and the husband must love the wife as Christ loves the church that he gave himself for it.
According to him, love covers all evil. Bishop Omotunde warned them against ungodly acts, urging them to let the word of God dwell in them richly. He prayed that sorrow will never find a place in their heart.
