The Anglican Bishop of Egbu, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Okorafor, has poured curses on the killers of a lecturer at Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, Rev. Father Dennis Osuagwu, saying that God will soon fish them out.
In his charge recently at a Eucharistic service of confirmation, admission and induction at St. Mark’s Church, Eziobodo, Owerri West local government of Imo State, the bishop noted that it was a grevious sin for the hoodlums to have wasted the life of an anointed man of God in such a horrific manner for which they cannot escape God’s wrath.
He challenged the police and the security agencies in the state to do all in their power to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous act as he decried the trend in Owerri metropolis where he alleged that daylight robbery and the snatching of people’s valuables have become the order of the day.
Bishop Okorafor equally deprecated the state of despair of many rural roads, more so the one leading to Eziobdo community on which he traveled on his pastoral visit to the church, calling on the state government to pay attention to them.
Performing the confirmation, admission and induction ceremony, the prelate commended the Vicar of St. Mark’s Church, Rev. Canon N. Anyanwu, his wife, Chinwe, the priests and other church workers in the parish for presenting such a high number of candidates of all categories. He was also impressed with the developmental strides at the parish headquarters and enjoined the congregation to sustain the tempo.
Earlier in his sermon, the Bishop’s Chaplain, Rev. Progress Okorafor, assured those with clean hands and are righteous that God would see them through all temptations, tribulations and disappointments and establish them to the paths of joy and prosperity.
