Youths have been called upon to shun all distractions and embrace holiness and righteousness to enable them to be aflame for God.
Bro. Andy Agonmuo made the call while preaching the sermon during the Youth Week at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Ikenegbu.
He said that a lot of side attractions seem to weigh down on youths, such as beauty, pride, money, fame, among others, and stressed the need for them to lay all these aside and use their youthfulness to serve God.
Agommuo, who preached on the topic “Youth aflame for God,” regretted that youths who are supposed to be champions for God have turned to be champions in cultism, armed robbery, drunkenness, smoking kidnapping and other vices.
He noted that the world and the church today are in dire need for evangelism and called on the youths to be the light of their generation.
“When you are a light and you are not shining, then you are unprofitable to your generation,” he said.
He, therefore, called on youths to have a personal relationship with God in truth and in spirit so as to be aflame for Him.
