By Chinasa Ogbonna

The St Peter’s (Ang) Church, Ikenegbu, in the Anglican Diocese of Owerri, last Sunday held a well-attended children’s harvest with the theme; “Raising Godly Children  for impact”.
Preaching on the theme, the Anglican Children’s Ministry (ACM) Co-coordinator in Uratta South Archdeaconry, Bro Winner Igwe, said that the present malaise in the country started many years ago because parents did not properly bring them up then.
He posited that the only hope for the nation is to raise godly children who will take over the affairs of the country.
The preacher identified the principles of training children for impact to include using the word of God, exemplary living by adults, correction and disciplining of children, among others.
The preacher reminded parents of their roles in the family as the spiritual leaders of their homes and to train their children collectively.
