End time: Bishop cautions Christians

By Our Reporter

The way has been pointed to Christians on how to “live as true Christians and authentic disciples of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in spite of the violence, materialism and money-mindedness” in the church and nation.
In his presidential address at the just-concluded Owerri Diocesan synod, the Bishop, Rt Rev. Cyril C. Okorocha, PhD who dwelt on the theme, “How then should we live” noted some events in the world that point to the end of the time prophesies in the Bible.
“Everywhere, the cry is the ‘end of the world is near; Indeed there has never been a time like this since the fall of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 in relation to New Testament Biblical history and prophecy”, he noted.
Bishop Okorocha observed that Christ predicted the wars, rumours of war, earthquakes epidemics and strange diseases as precursory to His return including “the rule of money, especially in the church”.
The prelate equally linked the emergence of ISIS and Boko Haram to the signs of the end time.
The Bishop of Owerri noted that “ISIS is not a religion but an ideology which hides under the vinear of reliology and socio-political idealism most of these like the idealism of Marxist socialism”.
He did not differentiate ISIS or Hamas or Al shabab from Boko Haram warning that “they are here. They did not arrive yesterday nor are they leaving tomorrow”.
