St. Phillip’s Ikembara honours Geo-Cassidy

An Owerri-based philanthropist and business mogul, Sir Geo Cassidy Josiah has been honored by his home church, the St Phillip’s Anglican Church, Ikembara for his philanthropy and contributions to the growth of the church in the parish.
Pathfinder Award was conferred on him during a thanksgiving and Award Day ceremony of the church held recently in Ikembara.
Presenting the award, the Parish Priest, Rev Canon O. Ilekanachi described Geo Cassidy as ‘a public-spirited, development-conscious and selfless person who has contributed immensely to the growth of the Church and development of human resources in the area”.
According to him, St Phillip’s Anglican Church, Ikembara is the seat of the Parish, and ‘our resolve to him is to show appreciation for the exemplary and positive support he has so far extended to our parish. Apart from this, he further stated, ‘Geo Cassidy Josiah has on several occasions attracted support to the church from his friends and business associates”.
Responding, Sir Cassidy who is the chief executive officer of Owerri-based Fashion outfit the Geo-Cassidy Fashion Home, and one-time chairman of Imo Marketing Company, thanked Rev Canon Ilekanachi and his team for the award.
He said he was overwhelmed by the recognition as he realized that the church was keeping records of his humble disposition to the church and its members.
He promised to step up his assistance to the church as the Lord continue to bless him.
