Aim to make new heaven, cleric urges Christians

By Blessing Uzoma

Christians have been advised to focus their minds on things that would lead them to the new heaven.
Lay Reader Martin Uzoma of the Anglican Diocese of Egbu gave the advice while delivering a sermon at a Church service at the All Saint Cathedral Church Egbu.
He quoted Revelation 21:1 which has it that the old heaven and the old earth will pass away and there shall be a new heaven and a new earth “where God is going to wipe away tears from our eyes, where there will be no more death, sorrow, crying or pain.”
Lay Reader Uzoma counseled that, according to the Bible, all these things will be gone forever if we set our minds on things that are above.
Christians, he also said, would be closer to God when they read their Bible often and believe in it.
The preacher also drew other Biblical references revealing the promises of God to those who do this will.
“Those who conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God and they will be my children “(Rev.21:7).
