Mama Owerre stresses importance of faith in life of a Christian

Faith has been stressed as essential in the life of a Christian without which “it is impossible to please God because any one who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards  those who earnestly seek Him”.
This submission was made recently by the president of the Women’s Ministries of the Anglican Diocese of Owerri, Dr. (Mrs) Eunice Iheoma Okorocha in her presidential address at the 26th Bi-ennial Mothers’ Union Conference of the diocese.
Espousing the theme of the conference; “Faith, obedience and service; foundation and pillars of our Christian life style,” she posited that “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
The president depicted faith  severally as welcoming and receiving, an act, growing through difficulties as she equally assured that “faith will make us set our priorities right” and that “everyone born of God overcomes the world” with extensive references to Bible verses.
On obedience, Mrs Okorocha noted that it is the “idea of yielding to persuasion and submitting to authority”.
She observed that there is an important “link between our faith and our obedience to God” adding that “faith should lead us to obedience and obedience will enrich our faith”.
The “Women’s Ministries president then urged Christians to exhibit obedience in the church and community but cautioned that “we should in all things obey God rather than man” hence “when people want us to do what is wrong, we should resist them and do what is right in obedience to God’s word.”
