A pro-Biafra protester in Owerri has frowned at the arrest and incarceration of the head of the Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and is therefore demanding his unmediated release.
The protester, barely 25 years old, spoke to Christian Voice when the group stormed Owerri capital of Imo State recently.
The man who did not disclose his name also expressed his disapproval of what he described as a deliberate shutout of the youths, Ndigbo and the south south people of from the present federal government under the leadership of President Muhamadu Buhari.
He said it were better they looked for their own country if they were not welcomed in Nigeria.
The protesters marched through the streets of Owerri followed by uniformed men in their armored personnel carriers.
The police, the Army, Navy, Civil Defence and Immigration were seen on their trail ready to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
Our reporter gathered that the innumerable protesters were from different parts of the Niger Delta region and South-East.
One of the security men said that, so far, the protest remained peaceful and the security men were adhering to the international best practice in matters like that.
