The immediate past-president of Owerri Community Assembly (OCA), Chief Dr. Christian Oweaya Anukam has been honoured with the award of “Excellent Performance” by the Imo State University (IMSU) Chapter of Federation of Owerri Students.
The honour was bestowed on the community leader in his office when a delegation of the federation paid him a courtesy call.
They appealed to Chief Anukam to assist them recover N500,000 endowment fund belonging to the federation which was allegedly paid into IMSU account on their behalf by Hon. Levi Oguike and which they claimed that the university’s bursar has described as a “trapped fund”.
In his response, Chief Anukam appreciated the students’ gesture describing them as his children, commending them for their obedience to him and their biological parents.
On the endowment fund, he appealed to them to remain calm and patient assuring them that he would meet with Hon. Ogiuke on the matter.
