Nkwerre tax office gutted by fire

he Nkwerre Local Government Area Tax Office has been gutted by fire as vital documents, equipments and working materials went up in flames.
Both the Transition Committee Chairman, Barr. Paschal Onwukaike and the Director of Administration and General Service (DAGS) said they suspected sabotage.
Conducting the Imo State Commissioner for Internal Resources and Pension Matters, Chief Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe and his team, the TC Chairman of Nkwerre said the inferno which started about seven p.m last Thursday lasted for over one hour.
The commissioner promised, to set up an investigative to look into the matter.
The Chief security officer of the Council Mr. Francis Uzoukwa told the commissioner that the Council lacked enough security personnel as the only one duty at the time was deployed to the Licensing Office where more than 20 computer systems had been installed
