pix2pix1Following the earliest responses by Imo State Government to resolve her recent impasse with the state labour work force, HRH Eze Oliver Ohanweh has expressed gratitude to Governor Rochas Anayochukwu Okorocha for his maturity in resolving the crises
Eze Ohanweh who is the traditional ruler of Ihim Autonomous community in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the State disclosed this on Friday in Owerri while addressing news men on the lessons of the amicable resolution
The Royal Father who described Governor Okorocha as Father of the Imo Workers noted that if not the Governor’s good sense of maturity and love for the state that the strike action would have lingered and socio-economic activities of the state would have been paralyzed.
While commending the Governor for his maturity, the traditional ruler equally expressed gratitude to members of NLC and TUC for their patriotism and understanding, assuring of the need for both parties to work in harmony.
He also advised the workers to be patriotic and hard working as a strategic means of assisting the State government in its efforts to better the lots of the populace.
Eze Ohanweh lamented the global economic meltdown, adding that the glut has tremendously affected the State government’s earnings.
The traditional ruler enjoined all Imo indigenes to embark on mechanized agriculture so as to have sufficient food both for internal consumption and export.
He observed that with the present economic meltdown that no state can comfortably depend on the allocation from the Federation Account noting that the economy is going down every day.
Obi Gburu Gburu 1 of Ihim as he is popularly known also commended the State Government for making Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport a reality assuring that the airport will be a gate way to ease export and import businesses.
