The Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF) of Avu Archdeaconry recently ended the 2016 Annual Bible Study Conference with the theme; “My Redeemer lives (Job 19:25).
In his address, the Vicar of Oforola Parish, Rev. Chidi Nlemchukwu, noted that some youths have resorted to crime because of hard times, adding that crime will not solve their problems but would rather destroy their lives.
He, therefore, urged them to regard their experiences as moments of trials and temptations which they should ask God for His grace to overcome.
In his sermon at the occasion which took place at Christ’s Church, Oforola, Bro Ben Ekewuba posited that the present economic meltdown and unemployment can make youths to lose hope in what God can do.
He linked the present situation to what Job went through in the Bible but which could not make him lose faith in God but rather believed that “my redeemer lives” as he counseled youths to exhibit the character of Job in every situation.
The youth leader, Bro Udochi Akagha, explained that the conference was meant to remind the youths to always study and equip themselves with the word of God to enable them overcome all trials and temptations of life, especially the present situation in the country.
