The Anglican  Bishop of Egbu, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Okerafor, recently paid a pastoral visit to Emmanuel (Ang) Church, Umualum, Nekede for a Eucharistic service of confirmation, admission and induction.
Impressive numbers of 123 candidates for confirmation and 55 candidates for admission into the Women’s Guild were presented for the occasion.

He described the feat as not only unprecedented but has justified the conducting of the exercise every two years, noting also the encouraging number of candidates presented for the Girl’s Guild, Mothers’ Union and the and the Christian Fathers’ Association.
On national issues, the bishop called for meticulous implementation of the 2016 federal budget to ensure that the expectations of Nigerians were met.
He challenged governments at all levels to meet their wage obligations to workers and pensioners as there would be no more excuses not to do so with the president’s assent to the bill.
Earlier, the Bishop’s Chaplain, Rev. Progress Okoroafor said the sermon based on 2 Kings 2:1-15, reassuring Christians who are righteous that their future would be bright and better than the present.
