The 6th Diocesan Women’s Guild conference of the Anglican Diocese of Okigwe recently ended at St. Barnabas Cathedral, Okigwe and in one of the points in the communiqué, the women appealed to the Imo State government to urgently settle the salaries and pensions owed to workers and pensioners.
The women urged Christians to be prayerful in difficult situations and to follow God’s ways in order to run “to finish strong and win the crown” and to always use their talents to work for God as well as be the light for others to follow.
As a way out of the present economic difficulties, the communiqué advised women to engage in farming and to have gardens around their houses which could afford them opportunities to exercise themselves.
In the communiqué, women were urged to be protective shields to their husbands, children and the society and to be clean as well as be the “Bible for others to read”.
The women then called on all Christians to pray fervently so that Islamists will not pull down the nation”.
