The Anglican Bishop of Owerri, Rt Rev. Cyril Okorocha, PhD has been extolled for transforming the diocese to a model in evangelism.
Prominent politician, business mogul and Anglican activist, Chief Sir Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu made the commendation at a service at CATOL last Sunday, which featured, among others, Bishop Okrocha’s birthday anniversary.
He described the occasion as memorable and evangelical for all and wished him, his wife, and family more, fruitful years in his episcopacy.
Chief Iwuanyanwu equally hailed the bishop and the CATOL community including the CATOL choir for the impressive way they handled the burial of late Sir Eze E.E. Njemanze, though it was supposed to be the responsibility of the entire Owerri Zone.
Highlight of the service conducted by the Cathedral Administrator and Vicar, Ven Dr. A.C. Akajiaku, was the cutting of the bishop’s birthday anniversary cake. Mr. Nnamdi Chibo read the first lesson as Mrs Jenifer Chibo handled the second.
Earlier in his homily Bishop Okorocha charged Christian fathers to make their homes houses of evangelism as he reiterated that the man is the head of the family and the wife the neck hence the authority given to him is controlled by the wife.
The bishop equally enjoined the children to be obedient to their parents as he counseled Christians to always stand for Jesus Christ who would equally stand for them.
