All Soul’s Chapel AICE Owerri honours fathers’

The Chaplain of All Souls Chapel, Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (AIFCE), Owerri, Rev. Canon Echi Nwogu, has called on today’s church to face the challenges of the anti-Christ in a manly manner.
The Chaplain made the call recently at the chapel during a well-attended Fathers’ Day Sunday service while speaking on the theme of the celebration; “Where are the men?”
In his sermon at the service, Prof J.A. Onuekwusi of Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri,  and a member of All Souls Chapel, recalled God’s promise to bless Abraham and his offspring if they kept the ways of the Lord and do what is right and just.
The preacher lamented that the crises facing the world today emanated from the failure of Christian fathers to carry out God’s instructions to Abraham, though they claimed Abraham’s blessings in songs and words.
He then urged men to revive their roles as sons of Abraham so that God will fulfill all His promises to bless the world, adding that only men who replicate the role of Abraham in their families, communities, churches, the nation and indeed the world like Prophets Elijah, Nehemiah, Mordecai and others in their times, are true men.
There were awards of excellence to two fathers, two patrons and 10 Ezinnas.
Awarded certificates of Excellence were Lady Victoria Nwigwe and Sir Ezekiel Izuogu while those honoured as patrons were Sir Dr. Dan Onwukwe, Sir Sydney Amadi and Sir Dr. Max Anyanwu.
