Your agitation is ungodly – Industrialist tells ‘rebellious’ Mbaise Catholic priests

A prominent member of the Mbaise People’s Congress (MPC), and Lagos-based industrialist and agric expert, Mr. Carl Azudibia, has described the tussle over who becomes the Catholic Bishop of Ahiara Diocese as “a show of shame” which should stop forthwith.
In his paper at the 21st Mbaise Colloquium 2016 held at Eke-Nguru, Aboh Mbaise, Imo State, recently, Azudibia lashed out at priests championing the rebellion against Bishop Peter Okpalaeke who has since been consecrated bishop of the diocese.
He said that if the Vatican who appointed him had erred, the protesters should allow God to judge them, rather than insisting on their own position in an ungodly manner.
According to him, the attitude of the priests has put the Mbaise man, Catholic or non-Catholic, in a bad light, adding that the three-year impasse has to end.
Azudibia, a former senatorial candidate for Owerri Zone, under the defunct ANPP, decried the proliferation of autonomous communities in Imo State and also condemned the relegation of the Aladinma system of governance in the communities.
He called for a return to the system where the Aladinma was the highest authority in the community rather than the present where it is forced to be subservient to the traditional ruler.
Also speaking as Guest Speaker at the colloquium which is the 21st edition, a public affairs analyst and former commissioner for finance in Imo State, Dr. Chris Asoluka, called on governments to serve as catalysts to the economic integration of the South East for national development.
In his opening address, the Chairman of the MPC, Mr. Ano Anyanwu, said that the congress was for the furtherance of mutual cooperation of Mbaise nation and the entire South East in general.
