The 2016 Women Home and Abroad Meeting of Christ’s (Anglican) Church, Oforola Parish, came to a close recently with a thanksgiving service.
The Vicar of Christ’s Church, Oforola, Rev. John C. Nlemchukwu, urged women to be agents of positive change in their respective families as he called on parents to pay undivided attention to the spiritual life of their families.
In his sermon at the occasion, based on Malachi 2:15, Rev. Dr. Enyeribe Ajare, submitted that one of the reasons God instituted the marriage institution is to raise godly children, hence, parents should make the raising of godly families their priorities. He noted that some parents feel that the best foundation they can lay for their children is to give them the best education, wealth and connection without paying adequate attention to their spiritual life and declared; “you have failed if you did not raise godly children”.
The president, Home and Abroad Meeting of the church, Mrs Adagozie Ubaerieke, in her remarks, identified mothers as the pillars of their families, adding that in the same token their faith and service to God would help parents to build godly families.
She stressed the need for parents to teach love, patience, forgiveness and reconciliation to their children as well as the foundation to a Christian marriage and home.
The Vicar’s wife, Mrs Njideka Nlemchukwu, delivered a lecture at a seminar with the theme, “Home Management in times like this”.
She urged women to be prudent in management of resources at home and to be hardworking in order to contribute meaningfully to the upkeep of their various homes.
