Egbu Women’s Conference kicks off Thursday

A four-day convocation of the women of the Anglican Diocese of Egbu  kicks off Thursday, September 1 and ends Sunday, September 4 at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Amala with the theme; “Be Ready for Persecution (Matt. 5:10).
In her briefing on the forthcoming event, the chairman of the Diocesan Women’s Conference Planning Committee, Mrs Maureen Onyewuotu, a Chief Magistrate in the Imo State Judiciary, disclosed that the  President of the Mothers’ Union, Women’s Guild and Girls’ Guild, Mrs Ngozi Chioma Okorafor (Mama Egbu), will present her presidential address Friday, September 2, 2016.
This will be preceded by the formal opening of the conference by the Bishop of the diocese, Rt Rev. Geoffrey Enyinnaya Okorafor.
Other highpoints of the conference, according to Mrs Onyewuotu include an award in honour of conference mothers and the presentation of the 22nd edition of The Virtue magazine and 2017 calendar on Saturday 3rd September.
But the climax of the conference comes on Sunday September 4th with the conference service, launching of the Diocesan Women’s Building Project, Magazine and calendar to be presided over by the bishop.
There will also be presentation of prices exchange of gifts between link stations and the final reading and adoption of the Resolutions/Communiqué of the conference.
