PDP lambasts Okorocha … Says every institution has collapsed

The chairman of Imo state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief (Barr) Charles Ezekwem, has alleged that there is “a total collapse of virtually every government institution in Imo State under the watch of Governor Okorocha.
In his maiden press conference in Owerri last Wednesday, the chairman whose election was supervised by INEC, lamented the plight of workers and pensioners in the state, adding that “Imo State has presently acquired notoriety as the most hostile and anti-labour state in Nigeria courtesy of Governor Rochas Okorocha”.
Chief Ezekwem recalled that the present exco of PDP which he heads came on board on August 8, he described “as the most democratic, transparent and freest congress held by our party in recent times” monitored by INEC.
He insisted that there is no faction of the party in the state but added that “in the spirit of reconciliation, we have set up an 18-man reconciliation committee healed by the former vice chancellor of FUTO, Prof. Jude Njoku.
Chief Ezekwem disclosed that the party recently launched a fund-raising ceremony where N100 million was  raised.
In his words, “invariably the Imo PDP as at today is therefore free of anybody’s blind or selfish biddings.”
The Imo PDP boss dismissed the re-run election in Imo State as a sham but urged his party men to remain calm because, “God willing, we shall laugh last.”
