Archbishop Okoh now GAFCON Chairman

The new chairman of Global Anglican Future Conference, (GAFCON) and the Primate of Nigeria, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, has reiterated that the only condition for genuine reconciliation in the Anglican Communion worldwide is for the Episcopal Church of America to “return to the faith once entrusted to the saints”.
The Nigerian Primate recently visited three dioceses of the Anglican Church in North America under the fundamentalist Convention of Anglicans in North America (CANA) and in an interview on the visit, the CANA East Bishop, Julian Dobbs, described the event as wonderful, noting that the Church of Nigeria has been a vocal and strong supporter of Evangelical Anglican Ministry across North America.
Bishop Dobbs said the new GAFCON chairman is faith- fully committed to the proclamation of Jesus Christ whether in the Northern states of Nigeria dominated by Muslims or in the United States and Canada.
On the recent change of the canons of the Anglican Church of Canada (ACoC) to include gay marriage, Bishop Okoh insisted that “our Lord teaches that Holy Matrimony is in its nature a conventional union, permanent and life-long between one man and one woman,” hence “there can be no compromise on the gospel”.
According to the report, the new head of GAFCON did not spare the Archbishop of Canterbury, Welby, who appears not to have taken a definite stand on the controversial issues that have been threatening the unity of the Anglican Communion worldwide as Archbishop Okoh declared that there will be “no compromise with Welby or North American Primates”.
