How to increase IGR – Kwara Gov

States which are heavily dependent on monthly allocations from the federation accounts have been given helpful tips on how to improve their internally-generated revenue (IGR) to serve the people better.
Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, who gave the tips, announced that the state’s internally-generated revenue has skyrocketed three-fold from N500m monthly to N1.5 billion.
Speaking at a recent public function in Ilorin, the governor said the feat was  achieved because his government had changed the process and personnel involved in its internally-generated revenue drive without introducing taxes.
The governor noted that the consciousness had come to Nigerians as a country, as states and governments that federation allocations can no longer be depended upon.
He, therefore, counseled states to took beyond earnings from the federation account to survive funding challenges that hinder states from discharging their constitutional responsibilities.
