Imo ANCOPSS visits SEMB secretary

A delegation from the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals  Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) Imo State Branch, recently paid a solidarity visit to the new Executive secretary of Imo State Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB), Chief Sir Cyprian Chukwu.
The body led by their President, Nze Amaku G.I. and secretary, Mr. Uzolu A.E. showered encomiums and honour on the new Executive Secretary, the climax being his appointment as a bonafide member of ANCOPSS and  presented him also with National Uniform of  ANCOPSS as a mark of recognition.
The body recalled that the other person so honoured is the commissioner of Education, Chief Mrs. Gertrude Ego Oduka.
But the delegation equally came with a bag-load of their demands including the request that the government gets fully involved in the hosting by Imo ANCOPSS of MCPT next month.
Imo principals also urged their host to properly advise the government on the implications of ceding of JS BECE registration to contractors since there were no previous records of inefficiency on the part of principals as well as reviewing the e-payment of teachers’ salaries which they said had made it difficult for principals to have full control over their teachers.
The principals appreciated the governor of Imo State for the recent authorization of payment of running costs to principals and requested the payment of the previous running costs.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Chief Sir C.O.E. Chukwu commended the leadership of the zones of Imo ANCOPSS for their wisdom, solidarity and support, promising to work harmoniously with them but cautioned them not to compromise low standards in their various schools.
