Perimeter fencing destruction by O.C.D.A. – Church claims plot was legally acquired

Officials of Owerri Capital Development Authority (O,C,D,A,), recently pulled down the perimeter fencing of St. Paul’s Anglican Church Ugwuorji, in the Anglican Diocese of Owerri, shortly after it was erected by workmen hired by the Church.
According to sources, the O.C.D.A. operatives equally smashed to smithereen the unused cement blocks while the priest-in-charge of the Church, Rev. Steve Anukam said that the plot of land was allocated to the Church by the Ohakim administration according to the original plan.
He said that work on the fencing perimeter had been delayed by the mechanics who had illegally occupied some part of the site, adding that the church began the perimeter fencing when the mechanics had quitted the place, stressing that government had earlier issued them with the fencing permit and all necessary documents pertaining to the plot of land.
