NURTW Chief calls for relocation of park

The Deputy Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Imo State, Chief Herbert Iwuji, has called on the Imo State Government to relocate the Okigwe Park in Owerri to the premises of Ministry of Land facing Tims All Stars Okigwe road, since the ministry has parked to their new office.
He made this plea while speaking to newsmen recently.
Chief Iwuji revealed that the owner of the present location of the park had sold the land, adding that the Imo State Government is currently losing revenue because the park is no longer functioning.
On the issue of vehicles still loading around Ama JK and other places, Chief Iwuji suggested the use of a task force backed by policemen.
He called on other members of the union to support Mr. Ikechukwu Okebaram who is the new chairman and decried the park management system being introduced by Imo State Government, which, he said, is killing the NUTRW in the state.
