CAN blasts Kaduna Imams … Says they are hypocrites

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has accused the Council of Imams and Ulamas of being hypocritical over the killings in Southern Kaduna, even as the case has attracted serious international attention.
CAN condemned the council’s call for arrest of its leaders over “inflammatory comments” and the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) statement that it was yet to forget how Christians killed Muslims in 2011 in the area.
CAN argued that the Muslim leaders claim to preach peace but are hypocritical about it, stating that CAN had expected them to call the rampaging Muslims to order and join in the process of looking for a lasting solution to the problem.
Meanwhile, the United Nations (UN) has pledged to ensure justice in the case which was brought before it by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).  Dr. Agnes Callamard, a UN special rapporteur, had, however, sent a memo to the SERAP on the issue.
