Ahiazu LG boss goes Tough on sanitation

Motoring public and people of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA who do not take environmental sanitation serious have been enjoined to change their steps or pay direly for it.
The LGA TC Chairman, Chief Cletus Onwuegbule who gave the warning while monitoring the last Saturday April 2017 monthly clean-up exercise said the council would no longer tolerate non challant attitudes to sanitation and public hygiene.
He harped on the need to abide by the three hours movement restriction order, warning that the Environmental Sanitation Court would not spare those who fix events and even burials to clash with the clean up.
On indiscriminate littering of dirts, dumping of farm debris on the road and blocking of waterways, the LG boss vowed to deal decisively with any body caught no matter how highly placed and advised the citizenry to desist from the bizzare act.
Chief Onwuegbule regretted the high rate of malaria cases due to mosquitos breeding in filthy environment and called all hands on deck in the campaign to end malaria for good via prevention.
He observed with chagrin that dirty habits and unclean environment also triggers diseases like Lassa Fever, Diarhorea, Dysentery, Yellow Fever, Hypertitis amongst others, underscoring that cleanliness is next to godliness.
The LG boss lauded the wife of lmo State Governor, Nneoma Dr. Nkechi Okorocha for championing the campaign to end malaria, the leading cause of death across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Meanwhile, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA TC Chairman, Chief Cletus Onwuegbule has patted butchers at Afor Ogbe slaughterhouse on the back for participating fully in the last Saturday of April Monthly cleanup exercise.
