120 Ahiazu Women get N.1m as Imo govt empowerment

Beneficiaries of the N100,000  Woman Empowerment Programme of the Imo State Government have been charged to put the money to good use and work hard to realize the purpose for which the scheme were set.
The former  State Commissioner, for Commerce and Industry, Chief Chidi lbe, gave the charge during the handing over of the cheques to 120 women beneficiaries, 10 each from the 12 wards in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA.
He said the N100,000 repayable soft loan was to boost their enterprises and stressed the need for dedication, diligence, prudence and fear of God in their dealings.
Chief lbe called on the people of Ahiazu to appreciate the governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha,  for the numerous development projects spread all over the state and more so for the N1million Youth Empowerment Programme, disclosing that the cheques would be handed over to the 12 youths beneficiaries from the 12 wards in the area soon.
He emphasized on the need to pray for the governor always to enable him actualize his good will and democratic largesse to lmolites.
Handing over cheques to the women beneficiaries in Ogbe, the LGA TC Chairman who also doubles as the Ward Chairman, State Development Council (SDC), Chief Cletus Onwuegbule, lauded Owelle Rochas for alleviating poverty and reducing crime via empowerment of women and youths and solicited untainted support of the citizenry in the unparalleled desire of the  governor to lift the state to enviable height.
In their turn,  retired Central Bank Branch Manager and SDC Chairman Oru/Lude ward, Chief Mac-Chinedu Eze, the immediate past LGA TC Chairman and SDC Chairman Nnarambia, Engr. Chika Ezeji, All Progressive Congress (APC) Owerri Zone Woman Leader and SDC Chairman Okrika-nweke, Hon. (Mrs.) Ego lbe as well as SDC Chairmen Oparanadim – Chief Dan Egere and Ogbor/Umueze – Lady (Dr.) ljeoma Ekeanyanwu extolled the state governor for the economic enhancement scheme and above all the free education policy from primary to tertiary institutions in the state.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke, Mrs. Cordelia Agumuo of Obodo Ahiara Amuzi/lhenweorie ward, Chief (Mrs.) Lorita Onuoha of Oru/Lude, Ezinne Uche Anyanwu of Ogbe Ahiara, Mrs. Oluchi Aybunno of Nnarambia, Mrs. Beatrice Njoku of Oparanadim and Mrs. Rosaline Okeke at Okrika-Nweke appreciated the governor for the expectional gesture and promised to use the loan judiciously.
