Coach Emetole dies in India

The former Heartland FC, El-kanemi Warriors and Rangers International Coach Kelechi Emelote aka “Caterpillar’ has passed away in India, in the early hours of Wednesday.
Emetole who was diagnosed with cancer of the throat was hospitalized in Nigeria but needed $11,000 excluding airfares, feeding, accommodation and local runs for his treatment in a hospital in India.
Not long after the plea by his wife, good Samaritans came to his rescue, donated money for his treatment, after which he was flown to India to proceed with the treatment.
He was also battling with heart related diseases after being diagnosed in India before his treatment begins
But sadly, he gave up the ghost after loosing the fight in a bid to recover, in the early hours of Wednesday, his death being announced by his wife.
Kelechi Emetole who became a legend in the round leather object by playing for the then Green Eagles of Nigeria and coached the then Spartans of Owerri.  He also coached Rangers International of Enugu, El-kanemi Warriors of Enugu and heartland FC of Owerri.
He will be remembered as the only coach to take Heartland FC of Owerri to the finals of the FA cup in Nigeria and also the contributions and achievements he made to the  growth and development of football in Nigeria.
May his soul rest in bosom of the Lord.  We, Nigerians were expecting you to come back to Nigeria hale and hearty.
