Egbu Diocesan Synod Torch moves to Nekede Archdeaconry

God honours Christians who revere Him and dishonours those who do not respect and fear Him, an Anglican cleric has said.
The cleric, Rev Progress Okoroafor stated this at Nekede the country home of Sir Christopher Aharanwa when a delegation of the Diocese of Egbu led by the Bishop, Rt Rev Geoffrey Okorafor called on Sir Aharanwa to present the Synod Torch to his household.
Rev. Okoroafor who is the Chaplain of the Bishop, explained the mystery of the Ark of God in the life of the Israelis and the blessings on Obed-Edom for accepting the Ark of God in his household. He pointed out that the spiritual significance of the Diocesan Synod Torch was to bring the light of God and His blessings to Sir Aharanwa’s household. The Torch, he said ,would ensure that the glory and light of God continue to glow in his home, such that neighbours and all God’s children will come to the family to draw light and blessings.
Speaking also, the chairman of the 2017 Egbu Diocesan Synod Planning Committee, Sir Osila Igwilo, spoke on the significance of the Synod torch, adding that it symbolizes not only the light of God but also cleanses and delivers people. He said that from testimonies received so far God has manifested his wondrous presence among the family of the host and all who witnessed and participated in the service.
Presenting the Synod Torch to the Aharanwa family, the Lord Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Egbu, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Okorafor, assured the family of continued presence of God’s light as symbolized by the Torch to the family. He also prayed that the Torch will bring transformation in all the nooks and crannies of the Diocese.
Nekede Archdeaconry is the first to hoist the Synod Torch.
