Drivers warned against loading in front of banks

Drivers who load and offload in front of Diamond Bank and other banks at Eke Ahiara Mbaise Junction have been given seven days ultimatum to desist from the act or face the full weight of the law.
Ahiazu Mbaise Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) , Mr. Anayo Chukwu gave the ultimatum, recently while reacting to consistent attacks, snatching of bags containing monies and valuables by miscreants who lay wait around the vicinity to prey on unsuspecting victims.
He called on drivers to be transparent, honest and fair in their dealings as well as unite against all forms of crime and criminality for the good of all and sundry.
Mr. Chukwu who is also the NURTW Vice Chairman Imo State pointed out that hoodlums disguise as passengers and take advantage of the illegal loading bail to strike, reiterating need for untainted synergy with security agencies in the fight against crime while urging them to always hand over passengers forgotten items in their vehicles to the union for safety.
On drunk driven, over speeding, overloading, reckless driving, dangerous overtaking and use of handset on the wheel, he admonished motorists to be road-safety conscious, obey traffic laws and regulations to evade preventable accidents and carnages on the highway.
He lauded the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Superintendent of Police (SP) Danjuma Ragga for his doggedness and urged him not to relent in his commitment to reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum.
