Expert links cancer to abortion

By Vincent Osuji

Cancer is becoming widespread, like malaria, because women are killing their unborn children.
An academician and prominent medical doctor based in Owerri, Imo State, Dr. Philip Njemanze, made this assertion recently in an interview with Christian Voice.
Njemanze, a pro-lifer and chairman of the Association of Catholic Medical Practitioners of Nigeria, Owerri Diocese, explained that when a woman terminates her pregnancy, the brain would still work as if the foetus is still in the womb.
He said:  “her brain and her body will still function as if the foetus is there.  So, the brain will send down all the hormones that are required for pregnancy, but there is no person to accept this for growth.
“So, it goes directly to the tissues of the mother and starts stimulating all her cells, then she starts developing breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and cervical cancer.
He said that more than 70 per cent of women who have abortion are exposed to cancer and other deadly complications.
Dr. Njemanze decried the high rate of abortion in the country and called for the strict enforcement of laws against the act.
According to him, life begins, medically, at conception.  He argued that a society that condones the killing of a unborn child has automatically legalized killing and the society would pay a “violent price for the violence induced at the very beginning of life”.
The medical expert urged women to always seek medical advice and not to see abortion as an alternative in cases of rape or consent, adding that it is criminal and immoral.
