Imo Network Group mourns Late Ada Onwu

Leaders of Igwebuike-Imo Network Group (ING)–a socio-political organization with bias for good governance weekend took their turn to pay tribute to one of their fallen chieftains, Mrs. Charry Ada Onwu-Otuyelu. The burial ceremony of the late woman activist and business icon took place at Nwangele Local Government Headquarters Amaigbo Imo State after a commendation service at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Amaigbo.
Speaking at the event, a Former, Federal Minister of Information and one of the Leaders of Imo Network Group, Prof. Walter Ofonagoro described late Chief Mrs. Onwu as a great woman of substance and a first class writer whose literary works won laurels in Europe particularly in Denmark.
Ofonagoro said her demise had created a huge vacuum in the global literary world and in ING that will be difficult to fill. According to him, Mrs. Onwu trained at the University College Ibadan in the 60’s and was one of the few characters in the movie industry that laid a very solid foundation for what is today known as Nollywood.
Prof. Ofonagoro revealed that the deceased was not only an international Nurse and Medical Expert but also owned big hospital and maternity homes in Lagos and Owerri and prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest.
Also speaking, the Chairman Board of Trustees of Igwebuike-Imo Network Group, Chief Poly Ezumoha said they were at Amaigbo to mourn one of their pioneer members and leader whose invaluable contributions and support including that of others made the association what it is today. Ezumoha submitted that Late Chief Charry Ada Onwu was everything to ING and humanity stressing that though she was not too rich but lived her life for the poor. The needy and the society at large. He said the caliber of personalities that attended the burial was a testimonial to the fact that Mrs. Onwu was a woman of many part.
On what ING was founded, The BOT Chair said the organization is a socio-political one founded and peopled by like minds whose sole intendment is to enthrone good governance in Imo State. According to him, the Association is ever ready to ensure that Imo State was not taken for a ride again politically in 2019. “We have no particular political party or candidate in mind, but out to ensure that a man of honour filled with sincerity and godliness who will also take Imo out of its current mess is elected to govern the state in 2019, same applicable to other elective positions”.
Adding his voice, the State Coordinator of Igwebuike-Imo Network Group, Chief Goodluck Nwachukwu averred that late Mrs. Onwu was a worthy and trusted leader of note who will be missed a lot not only by the organization but by all men and women of goodwill especially the poor.
The Orlu Zonal Cordinator of the group Hon. Cos Ukwuoma and a BOT member Dr. Mrs. Joan Hyginus-Nwaiwu in their separate speeches paid glowing tributes to the deceased. According to them, the late Mrs. Charry Ada Onwu made her mark in almost every sector of this life and succeeded in leaving visible footprints in the sands of time. They however, urged those she left behind to sustain her shining legacies.
