Another great synod

The outcome of this year’s Synod of the Diocese of Owerri affirms that our church is marching on.
This is owed to the astute and dynamic leadership of the Lord Bishop, Rt. Rev. Cyril Okorocha (PhD) with the support of course of his wife, Dr.Eunice who is president of the Women’s Ministry; under the guide of The Holy Spirit.
The summit went into session with great zeal and enthusiasm and was able to go through, with a high sense of purpose, the gamut of challenges facing the society and the church in the years ahead.
This year’s Synod is a milestone in the history of the Diocese and the state. It witnessed a great revival that marked a new resolve and dedication to guard the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The planning and hosting of the Synod have been impeccable and the execution near perfect. Thanks to the unfailing cooperation of members and the unflinching loyalty of the clergy. The host, Christ’s Church Owerri, can be singled out for special commendation in this regard.
Admittedly, these are very trying times for a lot of people in the state who have been dislodged in their places of abode and business, in the “urban renewal” drive of the state government. Many of these are members of our church. Remarkably, the Synod had remembered these in prayer and committed them to the care of the Father.
We wish the delegates safe return home, as the Synod winds up today with a great sense of fulfillment. For the clergy, a higher sense of enterprise will give the church a better standing in the midst of their congregation.
We have no doubt the Synod message will bear fruits of positive Christian influence in the body
